Dingle Cookery School on TV!!!

Féilte show TG4 came to Dingle a number of weeks ago to film for their Wild Atlantic Way series of Féilte. Dingle Cookery School was thrilled to be asked to be involved in this recording and it was a pleaseure to work with the Féilte and TG4 team! A very successful show aired on Thuraday 11 August and below we have the recipe for you to try at home yourself!

Císte Úll Chiarraí

Comhábhair

225g plúr éiritheach
110g siúcra
110g im
4 úlla cócarála (mór)
2 ubh
2 spboird bainne
1 spboird siúcra donn
25g almóinnī calógach

Modh

Téamhaigh an oighean go 170 oC
Ullmhaigh stán ciorcalach 9 órlach
Buail an t-im agus an siúcra le chéile go mbíonn cuma uachtair air.
Buail isteach na huibheacha agus an bhainne.
Bain an chraiceann do na húlla, gearr ina shlisní iad agus cuir isteach sa mheascán iad. Ba chóir go mbeadh an meascán fliuch go leor, más gá cuir breis bainne ann.
Doirt isteach sa stán an meascán agus scaip an siúcra donn agus na halmóinni ar a bharr.
Cuir san oighean é ar feadh 30 nóim.

Bain súp as le huachtar, custaird nó uachtar reoite!

 

Kerry Apple Cake

Ingredients

225g self raising flour
110g sugar
110g butter
4 large cooking apples
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. brown sugar
25g flaked almonds

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 170°C.
Grease a 9” deep tin
Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs and milk and sieve in the flour. Mix together and add in the peeled and sliced apples.
The mixture should be quite wet, if a little dry add some more milk.
Place in the prepared tin and top with the flaked almonds and brown sugar. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

Serve warm with some whipped cream, custard or ice cream!
